This deeply personal project reimagined the studio not just as a place to work, but as a place to gather, create, and connect with clients, colleagues, and the community.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a Messaging Wall that showcases the firm’s Vision, Mission, and Values in sleek black metal letters set into a maple wood channel allowing for easy updates as the firm evolves or celebrates visitors. At the center of the office, a flexible Town Center features a biophilic wall, AV system, wine rack, and mini-fridge, supporting everything from team brainstorms to client meetings and after-hours celebrations.
Layer X encourages use of the space for more than work as part of its communal culture. This use is enhanced by a full kitchen as well as a podcast studio open to the community that doubles as a small meeting room or place for staff to take a private call.
Strategically placed glass-enclosed spaces along the windowless wall with a playful graphic of our X logo offer privacy without blocking natural light. Thoughtful details support both productivity and well-being: sit/stand desks, quiet retreat areas, a kitchen for communal meals, a podcast studio open to the public, and a rear porch that offers fresh air and calm.
Custom designed maple frames hold photos from project locations in Scranton that are taken from an unexpected angle demonstrating that at Layer X, we are proud of where we are from and we look at things from a different perspective. The result is a studio that reflects Layer X’s brand and is alive with meaning and humanity.
