Hopewell Museum

Hopewell, NJ
The goal of this project was to evaluate the feasibility of an addition to the existing Hopewell Museum estate while preserving its historic character and strengthening its role as a community resource.

The Hopewell Museum Board of Trustees sought a comprehensive vision for the renovation and future expansion of the museum that included a program, budget, and conceptual design. The resulting report outlined short-term and long-term strategies for the buildings at 28 East Broad Street, ensuring that physical improvements align with the museum’s mission and vision while accommodating future growth.

Working closely with the Board of Trustees, the team developed a realistic plan that balances preservation with progress and a conceptual design for the addition that honors its historic character while preparing it for the next generation. The result of the study provides a roadmap for enhancing the existing building while allowing flexibility for future additions, ensuring the Hopewell Museum continues to serve as a vital cultural and educational center for generations to come.
