The Bank Luxury Downtown Living

Wilkes-Barre, PA
The goal of this project was to convert seven floors of a historic Beaux-Arts bank into luxury apartments that merge timeless architectural elegance with contemporary urban living.

Located in the heart of downtown Wilkes–Barre, this adaptive reuse project breathes new life into the iconic Miners Savings Bank completed in 1912. Originally designed by Daniel Burnham, the celebrated architect behind the City Beautiful Movement, the structure was envisioned to embody permanence and civic pride. Today, it has been transformed into luxury apartments, preserving its architectural heritage while responding to modern lifestyles.

The entry is celebrated with a custom metal sign that captures the spirit of The Bank brand, seamlessly blending identity, craftsmanship and a strong sense of place. The conversion integrates the intricate historic fabric with simple, clean lines creating light-filled, open living spaces with contemporary finishes that offer warmth and sophistication. Each unit is equipped with high-end conveniences and the building includes a suite of shared amenities all carefully designed to support community and ease in an urban setting.

By converting seven upper floors into luxury apartments, this project not only reclaims a piece of Wilkes-Barre’s storied past but also sets a new standard for downtown living where historic craftsmanship meets modern comfort in a building that continues to serve the city more than a century after its founding.
